Jeanne & Andre’s Brooklyn Wedding!

Sandwiched in-between rainy days, we could not have been more lucky with the weather on Saturday for my couple’s Brooklyn wedding at Greenpoint’s Transmitter Park with a reception following at the New York Distilling Company, also known as the Shanty.

It was an honor for me to be the wedding planner for Andre, a firefighter with the FDNY and his now wife, Jeanne. The vision for the wedding reflected the couple perfectly, both liking the idea of keeping it casual but ensuring it was a fun party for everyone, and it was!

The food was one of the highlights of the night. We had the Calexico food truck serving up tacos with chips and guacamole, and a chef cooking Indonesian style BBQ on site, both cuisines representing the heritage of the bride and groom. The Momofuku Milk Bar wedding cake was an absolute hit with everyone and for the last hour we had the MUD truck serving night caps.

Being that the wedding was at the New York Distilling Company, guests received a small bottle of gin with personalized labels as their parting gift. It was truly a night to remember!

Betty & David’s Brooklyn Wedding!

It was a gorgeous Spring day for my Boston couple who tied the knot at Brooklyn’s reBar yesterday. Although the wedding was indoors the weather could not have been more perfect for the rooftop photo ops! We were so lucky to have Lina Jang fill in as the photographer less than 8 hours before the wedding due to the original photographer being stuck in Puerto Rico. What a life saver she was!

5% Goes to Ronald McDonald House New York!

After planning a summer terrace cocktail party for my client’s 40th birthday, he chose the Ronald McDonald House New York for his 5% donation – another Event that Gives Back!

An excerpt from their website:

At Ronald McDonald House New York, we support each family and coordinate emotional and physical services, psychological care, ministry support, wellness programs, tutors, music, art, transportation, activities for siblings, holiday and birthday parties and camaraderie for parents struggling with their child’s cancer diagnosis.”

Party at the Brooklyn Clock Tower!

Today I met my client at his apartment, the famous clock tower of Brooklyn, to drop off items for his birthday cocktail party this weekend. One Hanson Place, a luxury apartment building, was once the Williamsburgh Savings Bank Tower and is still one of the world’s tallest four-sided clock towers.

I was in awe of the interior space and my client was kind enough to show me the old bank lobby which is now still used for events and parties.

The building also has an intimate lounge for residents to use for private parties which is where my client is having his cocktail party. It’s a great space with a nice size kitchen and includes a terrace overlooking Brooklyn.

Now that I have dropped off all the bits and pieces everything is set for Saturday’s party; bartender by A-List Event Staffing, catering by Brooklyn Fare and all the other necessary items to make the party complete!

Tasting at Rebar!

Last week I took my Boston bride and her fiancé to reBar for a site visit as a possible wedding reception venue. They both fell in love with the space and liked that it was close to their ideal ceremony location, Brooklyn Bridge Park. The following week I set up a tasting, which in my bride’s words “blew their minds!”. Needless to say, the tasting sealed the deal and we are now booking reBar for their reception!

Here’s what my bride had to say:

“They make their dishes special with unexpected ingredient combinations and they do it well, which gave us a great flavor experience. Besides the food, the staff and Crystin (our host), were very professional and explained how each course would be presented. They definitely spoiled us.”

And here’s what they had:

Appetizers

  • lemon artichoke dip with baked naan
  • bacon fat popcorn and garlic herb popcorn
  • homemade hummus and vegetables
  • smoked gouda mac and cheese
