Madelyn & Rich’s NYC Rooftop Wedding!

Our wedding on April 25th was a beautiful and sophisticated Manhattan affair! The Bridal Party got ready in a lovely, sunlit suite at the Gramercy Park Hotel where the couple also had a private vow exchange before proceeding to Madison Square Park with the entire wedding party for photos before the ceremony.

Once at Midtown Loft & Terrace (a venue we first worked at for Stephanie & Steve’s wedding) everyone was able to relax in the Loft which has spectacular views of the Empire State Building! In a sweet and simple ceremony, the couple were married at sunset, followed by a cocktail hour of passed hors d’ouevres. Guests were then invited to the Loft for dinner and dancing.

It was truly a fun party filled with old friends and family that concluded at midnight with the DJ playing the classic, “I’ve Had The Time of My Life”.

We’re so lucky to be able to have the time of our lives celebrating with couples as they begin their journey together!

Here are some photos that will give you an idea of all the fun…

A wall of balloons behind the guest book where everyone was invited to snap a photo with the polaroid cameras and leave a note for the couple.

Jars filled with candy for everyone to create their own bags with!

Such a wonderful personal touch of special “fortune fish” that the couple discovered at their favorite restaurant, The Mermaid Inn.

5% Goes to Kitty Kind!

Stephanie & Steve had an exquisite rooftop wedding at Midtown Loft & Terrace on August 24 and they have chosen KittyKind for their 5% donation, the “amazing cat rescue organization” from which they got their “amazing kitties Jenga & Ella”. It’s another Event that Gives Back!”.

An excerpt from their website:

KittyKind is an all-volunteer group. We have no paid staff. We all must work regular jobs to support ourselves and the cats. Regardless of how a cat comes to us, while in our care they receive food, shelter, daily handling and attention, as well as vet care when needed. Most of our cats are in foster homes, living with our volunteers, rescuers, or members of the public who have generously offered to provide temporary sanctuary for a cat in need.

Stephanie & Steve’s Manhattan Wedding!

We could not have asked for a more beautiful day for Stephanie & Steve’s wedding which took place on the rooftop at Midtown Loft & Terrace. There was not a cloud in the sky and the temperature was perfect for an August day in New York City.

One of my favorite moments before a wedding ceremony begins is getting the bride ready to walk down the aisle. I love being part of that special moment before she says “I do” as I walk behind her, carrying her train. I’m the last person to see her face full of anticipation before the processional music begins, and I’m the last one to hug and congratulate her, other than her father, before she becomes “Mrs”. I can’t help but be overcome with emotion.

The style of the wedding was classic vintage and being that the bride thrives in creative concepts, she did a lot of DIY, even making her own flower bouquets for the bridesmaids and centerpieces. The bouquet she carried was made of antique brooches, including one from her mother on the stem of the bouquet.

During the speeches the bride had a special surprise for the groom – a flash mob she had organized with their friends singing “I’m Yours” by Jason Mraz. He was definitely surprised and it was so moving to see the love surrounding them and radiating throughout the room.

It was another successful wedding for Karen Brown New York and as always, I feel honored when couples trust me to take care of all the details on their special day!
